Thanks to all of you who suggested the Fat Quarterly Retreat in London at the beginning of June. Annabella was the one who suggested it first, so a little quilty something will be heading your way Annabella! What is really nice is that the retreat takes place on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Weekend – so I’m hoping that I might even be able to catch some of the spectacular events taking place on the Thames too! Killing two birds with one stone!
I’ve paid for my entrance ticket and my favourite little London B&B has space for me, so now I just need to book a flight and I’m all set. I was tickled pink to see how many of you are going to be there too! I couldn’t resist – it will be so nice to finally meet you in the flesh (so to speak!). Do let me know if there is anyone out there who is going that I don’t know about – and let’s meet up!
I’m also going to take Lindsay up on her offer of a trip to the Harrogate show later in the year too. Lovely! I can’t wait!!
Now that I’m home, I’m supposed to be gathering inspiration and designing the start of a quilt for a bee that will be starting up soon.
I’m finding it pretty scary and seem to have a case of quilter’s block….so true to form I’ve been …..you guessed it….knitting socks instead.
Here is number 2 of 2012…
Evelyn A. Clark’s Retro Rib Socks
Knitted with Araucania Ranco Multi.
Very cosy – and probably my favourite sock pattern – because they don’t fall down!
Now there are no more excuses – I need to put my creative hat back on and get on with some quilt designing…
Ooh I think I need a cup of tea!
