There is an inverse correlation around here between sock progress and house cleaning. You know what that means – delightful, cosy, new sock and a house where I really need to keep my eyes closed at the moment. I will get there, I really will, but there are so many things that are so much nicer to do than cleaning. Mind you, the feeling after all the cleaning is done has got to be right up there – even if the utopian state only lasts for a nanosecond once the kids come home from school. Tomorrow. Tomorrow I will be a housewife. At least for an hour or two. Maybe….
So….one of my Retro Rib Socks is done. And I have to say that Evelyn A. Clark did a very nifty job of designing the pattern. This is a great sock. Unassuming but classic. Love it. For those who haven’t heard me say it a million times (the rest of you can switch off at this point) , it comes from the sock book I couldn’t live without: Favourite Socks 25 Timeless Designs from Interweave. It is made in Smooshy Sock Yarn from Dream in Colour. Colour name currently mislaid, but a scrumptious mixture of dark jewel tones.
Thankfully my daughter cut off most of the leg from the photograph. My children, just to cheer me up, laughed at me when I was prancing around in one sock waiting to be photographed and told me that I have legs like a footballer. What a nerve. How can they say that? How dare they? These are not footballer’s legs, these are most definitely long distance runner’s legs!
On that happy note I’m off to the dentist!
