Finally we have some summer – just in time for one of my lovely Slow Down Sundays. Yesterday I did quite a lot of…
And a little….
….with Miss Rosie’s Spice of Life Quilts in mind. It wasn’t a day when I was feeling very decisive, so a lot of dithering went on and not a lot of anything productive. But that’s OK. Sometimes it just takes a little while for ideas to crystallize in my brain. As I tell my children ‘you can’t rush a creative genius’. (And they laugh at me!)
I also basted the Winter White Schnibble that I made a few weeks ago, so it’s ready to quilt. Now I just need to make up my mind whether to quilt it by hand or by machine. It isn’t very big and I’m leaning towards hand-quilting – partly because I’m miss having something to quilt by hand.
All in all a lovely lazy day, just hanging out at home and enjoying life.
I did make up for it today with a hard 20km training run though, the result being that I’m too pooped to be fit for anything much this afternoon. It was a beautiful morning, but a little warm for my taste. My big race is only a little more than two months away, so things need to start getting really serious around here.
It’s a holiday (Whitsun) here today, so it’s OK to have another lazy afternoon. Peter went for a long bike ride, so he doesn’t have the energy to do much either and the children seem to have taken themselves off with their friends. I’m going to contemplate my stash and think about making fabulous quilts full of stars and flying geese. If I achieve anything at all, I’ll show you it tomorrow!
Enjoy your day!
