As I told you yesterday I have been mulling over scrappy quilt ideas over the past few days – very much with Carrie Nelson’s new book Miss Rosie’s Spice of Life Quilts in mind, trying out this and that, humming and hawing….
Which is why I am now looking at this….
…with a somewhat puzzled expression. This is what I have actually produced in the last day or so. Not at all what I intended, I’m ashamed to say.
It all started because we decided to watch the Devil wears Prada on DVD a couple of evenings ago – and I do love to knit when I’m watching films, although actually watching films is something I rarely do. I grabbed the first thing that came to hand – Knitting Pure and Simple’s Neckdown Wrap Cardigan in Malabrigo worsted yarn in a colour called Stonechat. Lovely pattern, lovely yarn – but a great thick warm winter cardigan as we head into hopefully a hot summer. How loopy is that? It’s on big needles and the yarn is thick so it’s whizzing along – and after lots of fiddly sock knitting recently it feels incredibly free and easy. My daughter will love it….next winter….and thankfully she has already stopped growing, so it will still fit ….and maybe we’ll get some cool days this summer too 🙂
The undisciplined butterfly tendencies are clearly breaking through again…
But I really do want to do some piecing. So watch this space.
