Soda Pop QAL

Monday, June 25th, 2012

I’ve just joined the Soda Pop Quiltalong being run over at Sew Allegorical!

We’re going to be making this quilt:

Soda Pop by Katy Jones

From this book:

Which I just happened to have (and would recommend if you don’t!).

It’s cool, I want to use up lots of scraps and more to the point, I want to practice my machine applique.

So I’m pulling fabric out and messing up my nice tidy cupboard and sshhh I’ve ordered some bright lime green fabric for the petals…..mine’s going to be a limeade quilt. Lime seems to be my colour this year.

This week seems to be cutting out week….two and a half zillion squares to start with.

I’m onto it!

I like this a lot! I think green will make a lovely soda pop quilt. And a chance to cut into the fabric mountain! This looks like a fun quilt-a-long.

I have just joined the FQR kinky bee as a latecomer so I am not taking on any more projects in case I find myself floundering with 2 blocks a month! Sometimes I can make a quilt in a month, but it would only take one child to get chickenpox to completely derail my crafty output!

PS we were right to keep expectations low for last night’s football! I had my head down in felt applique for most of it but Mark Lawrenson’s commentary told me everything I neede to know…

    That’s a scary big quilt!

I’m not usually a fan of orange, but the quilt in the photo is stunning. I think lime green will be gorgeous too, Helen.

Oooh, more fabric, just what you need… šŸ˜‰ Looking forward to seeing the finished creation šŸ™‚

I have that book and I love that quilt but I can`t see me getting my act together somehow. I shall enjoy seeing how you get on.
